The Kit Demos Off/Axis Big Band (4 trumpets, 4 trombones, 5 saxophones, rhythm, and vocalist) features southern Maine and Seacoast NH/Boston musicians playing music by New England-based composers, innovative arrangers, and Afro-Cuban works by Dafnis Prieto, hard bop arrangements of Charles Mingus, George Russell, and Thelonious Monk, and avant-garde works by Roswell Rudd, Anna Webber, and others. We also arrange our own works to honor composers like Eddie Harris, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Elmo Hope, et al.
